01/02/2026  Water Supply Restoration Phase to Brunei Muara District Areas

Urgent repair work on the main pipe in Kampung Batang Mitus, the clean water supply to most of the Brunei Muara District is currently in the recovery phase.

 

The Ministry of Development in its press release announced that several areas have already received water supply such as the Berakas, Lambak Kanan, Jalan Pasir Berakas, Kampung Serusop, Kampung Bunut, Kampung Telanai, Kampung Tungku, Kampung Beribi, Kampung Junjongan, Kampung Masin, Kampung Bebatik Kilanas, Kampung Mulaut, Kampung Pangkalan Batu, Kampung Rimba area, Kampung Gadong, and Kampung Katok. Meanwhile, the distribution of water supply from other tanks is still continuing and is being expedited. The Public Works Department recommends that members of the public who have private tanks carry out flushing work to ensure that they are always in a clean condition. At the same time, the Public Works Department, in collaboration with other Government agencies such as the Fire and Rescue Team, has already carried out flushing work at identified locations to stabilise the pressure and ensure that the water quality of the distribution system is at a satisfactory level.

 

The Ministry of Development would like to express its gratitude for the cooperation of the agencies that have joined in the effort, especially the Ministry of Defence; National Disaster Management Centre, Fire and Rescue Department and Municipal Department, Ministry of Home Affairs; Forestry Department, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism; Volunteers from the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Red Crescent Society, students of Laksamana College of Businee who also contributed their energy, the citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam, the private sector and the community as well as the officers in the field. The Ministry of Development also expressed its highest appreciation and gratitude to the public for their continued support and patience, as well as cooperation in disseminating the information officially released by the Ministry. The cooperation and support from all parties is greatly appreciated and reflects the spirit of unity in facing this situation together.
